By Faith Dance Company was started in 1998 by Ariel Lopez. They perform a
mixture of Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and Sign Language as an energetic celebration
of joy, passion and love for Jesus Christ. Members of the group range in age from
ten to eighteen. They meet every week for dance rehearsal, Bible study and prayer.
The dance company members come from diverse economic and social backgrounds. Some have danced for years and some have only a few years of dance instruction. But they all share a common bond in their love for Jesus Christ and their love for dance. They eagerly share their talents when invited to perform at churches, fairs, Bible studies and schools throughout San Diego County.
The group’s name comes from Hebrews Chapter 11 and their ministry is founded on Romans Chapter 12. Ariel’s passion for the group is apparent when she says, “My vision for each girl is for them to be used in a way that will draw them into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. I pray that each of the girls and each person that sees them perform will learn what dancing was designed for – to glorify God.” By Faith has been used in both Chris-tian settings as well as secular outreach programs.

After taking a break this year for Ariel to have Scarlett & Katrina to teach English in Spain, we look forward to beginning this ministry in the Fall again.
